Upholding the welfare of Kamay-Ari in Western Mindanao Command and Zamboanga

The AFP Finance Center Multi-Purpose Cooperative (AFPFC MPC) visited units and stakeholders across the Zamboanga Peninsula from August 5 to 7, 2026, as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen member engagement and promote its products and services.


On August 5, the AFPFC MPC Board of Directors, led by CAPT DANILO MEMBRERE PN (Ret.), visited the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF), where they were received by C/SSupt Alfredo A. Devaras Jr., SRPPF. Simultaneously, an information drive was being conducted for 60 trainees, who learned about the AFPFC MPC’s products and services. The activity helped them develop greater financial awareness and prepare for their financial responsibilities ahead of entering active duty.

At the Naval Station Romulo Espaldon (NSRE) Officers’ Club, 40 personnel from various WMC units attended an information drive on the Cooperative’s products and services.

On August 6, the Board travelled to Lower Baluran, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay, to introduce the AFPFC MPC and its member benefits to the 106th Infantry “Tigpanalipod” Battalion, 1ID, PA. The delegation was received by 1LT ISAAC B. GALLANGI (INF) PA, who encouraged 30 personnel to join the Cooperative as Kamay-Ari.

On August 7, the delegation returned to WMC for an engagement with the Tactical Operations Wing Western Mindanao (TOW WestMin). COL RHOSSEL F. DUQUE PAF (MNSA), Deputy Wing Commander, received the Board and expressed interest in organizing financial literacy seminars and information drives to help strengthen the financial security of personnel.

The delegation then proceeded to Camp Enrile in Malagutay, Zamboanga City, to visit the 2nd Logistics Support Group, Army Support Command (ASCOM), PA. COL CLARENCE C. GARRIDO PA, Group Commander, welcomed the Board and encouraged his personnel to become Kamay-Ari. Thirty personnel from various units attended the information drive, with several participants taking the opportunity to join the Cooperative.

Thirty personnel from various units of the 2nd Logistics Support Group, Army Support Command (ASCOM), PA attended the information drive and several of them were welcomed as new Kamay-Ari at that event.


The final stop for this series of visits was the 54th Engineer “Sarangay” Brigade, where the delegation was welcomed by BGEN DARWIN F. HERNANDEZ PA, Commander. BGEN HERNANDEZ expressed interest in becoming a member and said the visit gave him a clearer understanding of the AFPFC MPC’s growing presence across the different branches of service.

During each engagement, the Cooperative donated audiovisual and office equipment to support the recipient units. Through these initiatives, the AFPFC MPC continues to advance its commitment to community development and uphold its promise to promote the welfare of all Kamay-Ari.
