AFPFC MPC supports PDL livelihood program

The AFP Finance Center Multi-Purpose Cooperative (AFPFC MPC), in partnership with the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO), conducted a livelihood training program for 30 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Correctional Institute for Women (CIW) in Sta. Lucia, Palawan on August 28, 2025.

Through the livelihood program, the participating PDLs were taught valuable skills in preparing dishwashing soap and fabric conditioner by Ms. Annabelle Maderazo, LEDIPO trainer. The attendees were trained on concepts and practices in successfully creating the products to help augment their incomes.

As part of the program, AFPFC MPC donated livelihood ingredients for do-it-yourself (DIY) dishwashing liquid and fabric conditioners as well as the necessary equipment like water gallons, buckets, and PVC pipes.

Speaking on behalf of PDL participants, one representative expressed her gratitude to AFPFC MPC for organizing the livelihood program. 

PDLs were hopeful that the training will help their livelihoods once they move into civilian life.

Sharing how the skills taught to them will help with improving their means of living once they move into civilian life, “Maraming salamat po, dahil sa inyo marami kaming natutunan ngayon. At least, sa aming paglaya, magkakaroon na kami ng kakayahan magtayo ng negosyo,” she said.

This program is part of AFPFC MPC fulfillment of its commitment to promote meaningful social change impacting communities and is set to continue further initiatives in the near future.
